Christina Pfaff. Coffee Table. January 31st , 2018.
Wooden coffee tables have always given a look of beauty regardless of what style of furniture you have in your home. Contemporary, French provincial, Spanish, modern, casual, rustic or whichever style you choose will always be complimented with the addition of wood furniture. One style that many homeowners and decorators choose is convertible a wood coffee table. These are the perfect choice for those with limited space. Convertible wood coffee tables have a wide variety of uses while still being very attractive. Some people may not be aware of what a convertible coffee table is. There are many versions of these tables such as those with an adjustable height. This is just one example, however. This particular style is very practical for a member of the home that cant reach the table to eat due to size or illness.
The coffee table should be suitable to your living style. If you rarely use it, possibly only to serve your guest a cup of coffee, choose a small, simple table. If it is likely to get used as a place for your favourite magazines, flower vase, bowl, etc., then go for a spacious table with drawers. To show off decorative accessories (shells, stones, photos, etc..) choose a table by the window. For a small space, choose the set of two or three tables of different sizes, which usually is stored underneath one another, and occasionally, when the situation requires, all three tables can be used.
Wooden coffee tables have less safety problems as a rule than glass ones; however there are still hazards that can exist. One of the particular dangers commonly encountered is the problem of small children learning to walk who injure themselves on sharp corners. Many baby and parenting shops and even IKEA now sell corner bumpers; small rounded foam or plastic caps that help to prevent injury. Whilst these are not too attractive to look at they are a great way to prevent accidents and only need to be used for a relatively small time whilst your child is in their toddler phase. Similarly there are now "bumpers" available that can be run along the edges of any wooden coffee table. These are heavily padded lengths of material that fix to the surface to prevent injury. They can later be removed when no longer needed.
For coffee table sets, the material that is used most commonly is wood such as oak, cheery, mahogany or pine. Other materials used for making these sets are stone such as marble and slate, metal, glass and plastics that are highly durable. As is the material of which they are made different so are the colors and patterns. The theme can be chosen as the idea for picking the right type of these table sets. If you are fan of the Victorian look you can choose an antique wrought iron coffee type table set but who want to go for modern and fashionable look can pick the wood coffee type table with exuberant and rich colors like black and brown.
